The Social Security Administration just posted its list of the top baby names for 2014, with Emma and Noah topping the list.

The administration began compiling baby name statistics in 1997, and the statistics date back to 1880. The stats are based on the roughly 4 million births last year.

According to Nameberry.com, Emma has been bolstered by the fact that celebrities like Emma Watson and Emma Roberts share the name.

Noah, a biblical name, tops the list for boys' names for the second year in a row.

Jennifer Moss, the CEO of BabyNames.com, told PBS that names come from the culture that surrounds us:

"Since the Internet and since pop culture is so prevalent and in-your-face all the time now, parents are finding baby names from fiction, from television, from movies, from celebrities, most often."

For boys, Bode, like the Olympic skier Bode Miller, rose the most spots on the list, up to No. 645.

Quickly dropping are the celebrity-inspired names Miley, Britney, and Rihanna, and for the boys, Carmelo and Channing.
